The Production
A passionate team bringing a heartfelt British story to life.

BUDGET & PRODUCTION APPROACH
Built around a small number of accessible coastal locations already secured.
The intention is to shoot using a small, agile crew, with the two lead actors rehearsing on location prior to principal photography. All cast aside from the two lead actors are essentially day players, allowing for higher profile actors to be utilised without having to pay for multiple shoot days.
We have 80% of the budget secured through private equity, in kind contributions, deferred fees and reduced rates. We will be utilising the UK’s excellent tax incentive and are also exploring regional support through Folkestone’s cultural regeneration, including the Roger Dehan Trust.

WRITER & DIRECTOR
Lucy Linger
Lucy Linger is a writer, director, producer working in film, television, and theatre. Her debut feature film, Offroading is currently out to distributors and sales agents. Her latest short film, Faithful, screened at San Diego International Comic-Con, qualified for Oscar consideration and has since secured international distribution. Her other film work has screened at festivals across the UK, Europe, and the US. Her
background in theatre heavily informs the project’s focus on emotional realism, chemistry and naturalistic dialogue. She will also be producing on All the Wrong Plans.
Statement
I wanted to create a story that captures the feeling of first love as something that exists between fairytale
and reality. Throughout the film, the line between the two is constantly blurred - from Cass and Eden being played by the same actress, to the recurring
purple velvet jacket that follows the characters through the story like a piece of fate. By the final scene, Cass unites these themes, placing the jacket on James - not because he is her fantasy, but because he has become something both real and magical: her first love.
